Following up on our Chinese theme, which all started when
Lynn and I spent a couple of weeks in China
this past November, we decided to break the winter blahs with...
what else?...a celebration of the Chinese new year, the Year
of the Dragon.
Putting his creative touch to the much anticipated festivities,
Eric Marlow along with wife/partner Gail Larned, sculpted a magnificent
snow dragon that lasted all night and day and only melted the
following day.
To add to this celebration, our good friend Terry Wilson
sent us this link to a series of artful computer generated dragons.Check
them Out!
If you care about such things, the groundhog Buckeye Chuck,
unlike his most famous counterpart Punxatawny Phil, did NOT see
his shadow on Groundhog's Day. It was actually a sunny day, but
at that hour the sun chose to hide behind a few clouds, long
enough to give us, winter weary Midwesterners, hope for a reprieve
from the predicted 6 more weeks of winter weather. Alas, so far,
winter is still here!
In this issue we welcome new columnist: P Susan Sharrock,
who honchos the Short North Business Association, who has provided
us for the past two months, and will now regularly give us, the
complete and comprehensive monthly schedules of
gallery shows in the Short North. Welcome aboard, P Susan!
